About Nick

I'm Nick. I was born in Bellflower, California on June 11, 1990. I am the oldest of myself and my two siblings. I love my family and don't know what I would do without them. Throughout my life I have had many career aspirations. Professional basketball player, film director, and psychiatrist are a few of many.
I am a senior at the University of Texas, pursuing a B.S. in Psychology. Embodied cognition is the area that I find to be most intriguing. Dr. Catharine Echols is advising me on my project.
I am very interested in sports and politics. The Los Angeles Lakers are the best sports team on the planet as far as I'm concerned. I like to follow the NBA, play basketball, play Playstation 3, spend time with friends, and read in my free time.
I've always had a fascination with the more extreme cases of psychology. Savants, serial killers, schizophrenics, and the like have always been intriguing to me. This probably explains why some of my favorite works of art (Stanley Kubrick's "The Shining," George Orwell's "1984," and "Silence of the Lambs") all have psychological themes, either directly or indirectly so.
Overall, psychology has always been an interest of mine and I hope that in doing this project I can learn much more about the discipline as well as myself, my passions, and my future aspirations.
